![]() zip folders before dragging them to the iCloud Photos drive. I'm using Debian 9.6, but that should likely not matter. Drag the Google Takeout export folder(s) to the iCloud Photos drive. ![]() I want the archive to be complete, so not just GMail or Google Drive. I would prefer a simple "one cmd line to create the archive, one to download it" solution, but if it requires writing a program, so be it. The reason why I didn't just put a bounty onto the existing question is that I don't want the files on Google Drive (which can be done directly when creating the archive), but download them. If you rename the extension from mp4 to zip, and then extract it, the real mp4 was inside. Google creates a zip file of the mp4 and then changes the extension to mp4. The mp4 file listed inside the Takeout zip archive is actually a zip file. The closest I got is this question where none of the answers tells me how to create a Takeout archive, one claims that it "seems to be almost impossible", but that was in 2014, and this help page, which seems to be about something else, not Google Takeout (or maybe it is? I didn't understand everything). The best hint was the YouTube comment: You uploaded an archive file, not a video file. Each picture and video from Takeout will be accompanied by a metadata.json file containing all the EXIF data. Navigate to Google Takeout Deselect all, and select the Photos archive Download and unzip your archive. The part of handling the file and uploading it is already done ( here is my self answer about that).īut what's still missing is getting the archive. Downloading All Files From Google Photos. Under Your Google services, select Photos and then More More and then Transfer data. I want to automate the process of downloading my Google Takeout data and uploading it somewhere else. Step 1: Select Google Photos Go to your Google Account Dashboard.
